The first question I always get is ”why do I struggle with sleeplessness” and the first answer I usually give (after about 2 hours of therapy sessions is) “it's complicated”. The truth is that insomnia has both a physical and a mental aspect to it, and could be due to anything from stress; poor mental health; pain, and even due to the negative side-effects of medication (does any of these ring a bell?).
About a quarter of the world's population is estimated to struggle from various levels of insomnia/ sleeplessness throughout their lifetime. (That’s right, you are not alone) and Insomnia is a serious issue for many people- but very few do anything about it.
The hustle and bustle of daily life accompanied by the motto “just power through it” may have worked when you were younger, but is probably not be the best route anymore.
The simple fact is that we need our beauty sleep for more than just that healthy morning glow.
Study’s show that something as simple as a night-time routine can help combat the severity of insomnia… And when that doesn’t cut it, making CBD part of that routine may just be the answer you have longed for during those long “sheep counting” nights.
“IF SOMETHING IS WORTH DOING; IT'S WORTH DOING IN STYLE” And in the case of a CBD night routine, I would certainly argue that is the case!
(Especially since routine is so hard to stick by, and making it a pleasant is always recommended)
Try the following:
CBD-infused “Golden milk”:
- 20mg of CBD oil
- A tiny 1 cm piece turmeric / 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
- 1 Pinch of ground cinnamon
- 1 Cup milk/ coconut milk/ or unsweetened almond milk
- Honey/brown sugar for optional sweetness
1) Using fresh ginger
− Blend and whisk all ingredients together, then warm through on the stove over medium heat for 15 minutes. Let it simmer gently for 15 minutes but not boil.
2) Using ground and dry ingredients
− Heat milk in the microwave; add remaining ingredients and enjoy
